IN CHARACTER
Name: Ginny Molly Weasley
Nicknames/Aliases: Gin, Ginny, Ginevra
Age: 17
Location: The Burrow; Ottery St. Catchpole, England
Birthday: 11 August, 1981
Nationality: English
Blood: Pure
Affiliations: Gryffindor, Gryffindor Quidditch Team, Dumbledore's Army, Slug Club
Pet: Errol? Arnold the Pygmy Puff?
AppearanceGinny is of medium (athletic) build, fair complexions with lots of freckles, and possesses long, flaming red hair which she usually wears down. She has a habit of using her Quidditch goggles as a headband. She is of medium height, around 5' 6" and has bright brown eyes and a fairly strong jaw. The one place she would not be considered toned is in the bum and thighs. It's obvious that she will one day (if she's not careful) inherit Mrs. Weasley's pear shape. Magic cannot escape genetics.
She is considered by many to be very attractive both due to her physical features and, at least to some, due to her brash, headstrong attitude. She is comfortable with this. She is also known for a relatively down to earth style favoring greens, browns and grays, excepting scarlet and gold. This is perhaps because of her family's relative poverty or perhaps because she likes it that way. Her clothes are neither tattered, nor impeccable but she always matches. Given a choice, she leans strongly toward the tomboy both out of functionality and comfort. This was started at a young age, through the influences of six older brothers. When not in her school uniform she heavily favors broken in jeans and a pair of thick soled boots.

Platonic RelationshipsBest friend(s): Hermione Granger
Good friend(s): Harry Potter, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Heidi MacAvoy
Acquaintance(s): Most other Gryffindor students, Members of Dumbledore's Army, Blaise Zabini, Terry Boot, Anthony Goldstein, etc.
FamilyParents: Molly and Arthur Weasley
Siblings: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred (diseased), George,
RonNotable Relatives: Fabian Prewett, Gideon Prewett, Bilius Weasley, Fleur Delacour
Relationships with parents: Ginny has a strong relationship with both her parents, though sometimes adversarial. They tend to be overprotective because she is there only daughter and youngest child. This is probably more pronounced than usual at the start of the game, as the Weasley family has just lost Fred.
Relationships with relatives/siblings: Well loved (and looked after) by all her siblings, Ginny has a special love for Fred and George. She and Ron are closest in age and see each other regularly at Hogwarts; both are (or have been) on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Her relationship with Percy, like the the rest of the Weasleys is mending.
Hated ThingsHated people: Slytherins, especially Slytherin girls such as Pansy Parkinson and Millicent Bulstrode. Draco Malfoy.
Hated characteristics: Weakness or cruelty especially. Ginny also dislikes those without a willingness to work hard. This has perhaps rubbed off from Hermione.
Hated miscellaneous: Ginny also dislikes Shepherd's Pie.
At Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Accomplishments: Ginny is the first to play two different positions for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team in quite some time. She passed all her OWLs but one (Astronomy, who needs it?) including an Outstanding grade in both Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts. She is very worried about being behind on NEWTS because of her absence from Hogwarts after Christmas last year.
Attitude about school: Serious, but not Hermione serious.
Best Subjects: Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts
Worst Subjects: Astronomy
Extracurriculars: Quidditch, Slug Club
Vices and FlawsSmoking: She think's it's gross.
Alcohol: Ginny can get down and party with the rest of them when time and reason permit. She isn't a stranger to a hangover, but doesn't habitually use alcohol to excess.
Character flaws: Independent, and energetic, with a fierce temper and a wicked sense of humor. Proud to a fault, she does not cry easily. Ginny's biggest flaw is that she can be reckless.
In regards to the law: Ginny is almost always on the right side of the law, though often she can at least contemplate actions that could be frowned upon, even if her intentions are good.
Fighting: Will fight if properly provoked.
FavoritesColors: Green (Harry's Eyes)
Foods: Mrs. Weasley's Cooking, Chocolate Frogs
Drinks: Butterbeer, Earl Grey
Quidditch team: Holyhead Harpies
BeliefsPolitics: Ginny believes in equality for all, regardless of blood status and dislikes those who place blood purity over skill or talent.
Love at first sight: Originally, Harry Potter
Premarital relations: Ginny doesn't have any problems with sexual encounters before marriage as long as they're safe, smart and fun. She tends to be a bit picky (as we've seen).
Drugs: Nothing hard, for sure.
Gender equality: Ginny is as good, or better at many things than her talented brothers. It's safe to say she believes that gender equality is very important.
Homosexuality: Ginny also holds that sexual orientation has no bearing on the skills, abilities, or worth of any person, magic or muggle.
Additional Background History (Three paragraphs or so on the events of Trio's years 1-6 for your character)
Ginny's background is fairly fleshed out in the canon. She entered Hogwarts during the Trio's second year, was possessed by the fragment of Lord Voldemort's soul kept in his diary and forced to open the Chamber of Secrets. As a result, her first year at Hogwarts was terrible. She felt inadequate and lived in constant fear when students started falling victim to the basilisk and she couldn't remember where she had been or what she had been doing at the time. Furthermore, to be saved by Harry was a supreme embarrassment. She had spoken very little to him up until then and had a serious crush. Starting in her second year, she became more confident and more powerful. She was present for Professor Lupin's performance against the Dementor on the Hogwarts Express and found the guts to visit Harry in the Hospital Wing when he fell from his broom later that year.
Ginny established a strong relationship with Hermione in her third year and began to relax around Harry. She attended the Yule Ball with Neville Longbottom, though she later learned she could have gone with Harry. The next year (her fourth) was rocked by the return of Lord Voldemort and she and the Trio did their best to be useful to the Order of the Phoenix despite their age. She joined (and named) Dumbledore's Army when Delores Umbridge refused to teach anyone to defend themselves practically in light of Voldemort's return. She learned any number of new and powerful spells (including her horse Patronus) to go along with her powerful Bat Bogey Hex and Reductor Curse. It was during her fourth year that she got her first taste of combat, alongside the Trio, Neville, and Luna in the Department of Mysteries. She suffered a broken ankle, but no other ill effects.
In her fifth year, Ginny tried out (and made) the Gryffindor Quidditch Team and joined the Slug Club after accidentally impressing Professor Slughorn with her very powerful Bat Bogey Hex. Her relationship with Ron became frosty again as they fought over her relationships with boys and his immature relationship with Lavender Brown. Later that year, after a break up with Dean Thomas, she and Harry finally kissed during a Quidditch celebration. She later took part in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, emerging with no injuries.
Ginny's sixth year is scarred by the presence of Snape an the Death Eaters running Hogwarts. She serves as a bridesmaid at Bill and Fleur's wedding, and stays home from Hogwarts after Christmas break. Very little canon information is provided about her half-year at Hogwarts except that she continued her activities in Dumbledore's Army and was caught at least once breaking school rules. Suffice to say, her temper and headstrong nature made for an interesting, if dangerous time.
How was your character affected by the events of the previous year and the Battle of Hogwarts?
Ginny was never afraid of the war. In fact, she relished it and was only displeased that the adults in her life were so intent on protecting her. Never in her life had she believed that things would end as they did. She was torn between safety and her remaining friends at Hogwarts when the decision was made that she wouldn't return after Christmas, despite what Hogwarts had become under Snape and the Death Eaters. Further, the attempts to keep her safe during the Battle of Hogwarts had the opposite of their intended effect. Having fought bravely and effectively in both the Department of Mysteries and the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, Ginny is rapidly coming to resent being treated as a child. She feels that she's lived through what has to be the most dangerous time in her life, and as such, is ready to prove to her parents, and anyone else, that she can handle herself.
How is your character dealing with those events and any losses they suffered (detail the losses)?
Ginny is still dealing with Fred's death as well as those of Lupin and Tonks. She was closest to Fred and George and so, losing her brother has left her unsure of what to do but given her a desire to become strong enough that she can prevent that from happening to anyone else. Likewise, Tonks' death has hit her hard. Perhaps harder than anyone expects. Ginny had come to look up to her as an example of how a woman of her personality and temperament can get along in life. She is still her usual self in that she remains headstrong and opinionated. She is down more often than up right now and can usually be found either by a fire, looking unusually pensive, or in a deserted classroom somewhere working in her spells, alone. She is however, eager to finish her final year at Hogwarts so that she can do her part in rebuilding her world.
PB: I'm happy with Bonnie, but open to suggestions. I've also given thought to Karen Gillian.
